Cialis and Alcohol

It’s absolutely no surprise that many men taking potency enhancement pills want to know how they interact with alcohol. There are lots of cases when alcohol and sex come together and there’s nothing to be ashamed of. We’re not necessarily talking about crazy party nights and waking up with strangers in your bed. A nice date the way most people picture it would probably include a good meal and a couple of glasses of wine before you and your lady move on into the bedroom. But can you actually afford to drink these two glasses of wine when there’s sex on stake? Don’t you risk suffering from severe side effects or lessened effect of the ED drug itself? Here in this article we will try to answer all of these questions applied to one very popular medication for men – Cialis.

So, the answer to the first and most important of the above questions is this: alcohol does affect the effectiveness of Cialis. Unfortunately, it can lessen the effect of the drug or make it stop working at all. However, the good news is that it’s not all as bad as it might seem to be. The point is that people on Cialis are advised to refrain from drinking TOO MUCH alcohol, not to fully avoid it.

The reason behind this advice is actually pretty obvious – Tadalafil, which is the main active ingredient in Cialis, works by lowering blood pressure. Alcohol is known to produce the same effect, so, when consumed in really large amounts along with Tadalafil, it can make your blood pressure drop to really low levels causing dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, headache, and, of course, inability to get or maintain a healthy erection.

Fortunately, those are the only effects that you’re likely to experience when combining Cialis with too much liquor – there are no life-threatening side effects that many people online are talking about. In most of the cases they are pretty mild and can’t actually stop you from performing well in bed. However, you should remember that different people react to the same things differently and you might be exactly the case. There are a few stories on the Internet where men report drinking some hard liquor immediately after taking Cialis and suffering from severe nausea, vomiting and even fainting! If you don’t want to puke all over yourself and pass out cold in front of your lady, we strongly recommend that you first try how your body responds to the combination of Tadalafil and alcohol at home when you don’t have a real intention to get laid or possibility thereof.

So, it all means that you can still drink some when you’re on Cialis or about to take the pill. But how much can you drink? We bet that this is a question that lots of men want to have answered too. Unfortunately, it’s virtually impossible due to the physiological peculiarities of every single person. There are men who report drinking up to half a gallon of hard liquor and still performing well on Cialis while some also say that a couple of shots of whiskey combined with a pill of Cialis are enough to knock them out. Of course, these are the extremities and we don’t suggest that you go all the way to try both, especially the first one. One way or another, most doctors agree that drinking up to five glasses of wine or five shots of hard liquor will by no means impair your sexual performance with Cialis. Even more, some of them go even further and say that you can have a couple of drinks every hour during the night and still perform greatly. Well, we really hope that the latter point of view is right and we encourage those of you who managed to prove it to drop us a message.

Naturally, Cialis is far not the only ED medication that doesn’t work that well when combined with alcohol. In fact, some men who tried both Cialis and Viagra say that the good old blue pills turn into a real nightmare when popped together with some liquor. Okay, you can get the Willy up but you just can’t make it go down. In addition to that, you get heartburn, terribly low pressure and the overall feeling of malaise. It’s far not as bad with Cialis, they say. Thus, if you’ve got a night of drinking (and, hopefully, boinking) ahead of you, we’d say you should rather go with Cialis – but still try to avoid drinking too much.

If you experience any of the more serious side effects listed above (e.g. strong dizziness, vomiting, chest pain, numbness of limbs, etc.), we strongly recommend that you refrain from sexual activity. Less serious side effects, such as mild to moderate headache, indigestion or facial flushing don’t call for abstinence – but you can definitely consider making the intercourse less physically challenging, if your partner don’t mind doing all the work.

So, as you can conclude from this article, taking Cialis with alcohol is not as risky as it seems to be from the first sight. Moderation is the key here – if you stick to reasonable drinking limits, you will still be able to enjoy all the fun that the night promises to you. Don’t drink too much and you and your partner will definitely understand why Cialis is so popular. Have fun!

Cialis and Alcohol

There are several potential risks associated with combining alcohol and Cialis. This combination can increase your risk of developing certain side effects, such as dizziness, a rapid heart rate, and low blood pressure. If you are taking Cialis, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about your alcohol consumption and what is best for your situation.

Can I Drink Alcohol on Cialis?

According to the manufacturer of Cialis ® (tadalafil ), drinking large amounts of alcohol while taking this drug is not recommended. Although drinking a little alcohol while on Cialis probably will not cause any problems, significant consumption may cause a drug interaction.

How Much Can I Drink?

Studies have shown that men who drink five or more alcoholic beverages while taking Cialis may develop certain problems. Each of the following drinks listed is an example of one alcoholic beverage:

  • 5 ounces of wine
  • 12 ounces of beer
  • 1½ ounces of 80-proof whiskey or 1 ounce of 100-proof spirits.

Lesser amounts of alcohol probably will not cause any problems for most men.

Consequences of Combining Cialis With Alcohol

In studies, men who consumed large amounts of alcohol (five drinks or more) while taking Cialis reported the following symptoms:

Both of these products can have similar effects on blood vessels, causing them to dilate (open wider). It is this dilation of blood vessels that causes symptoms when alcohol and Cialis are combined.

Talking With Your Healthcare Provider

You should talk with your healthcare provider about alcohol consumption and Cialis. You and your healthcare provider understand your situation best. Based on what you want and expect, as well as your current health situation, the two of you can make a shared decision about your intake of alcohol while on this drug. There may also be other medical reasons why you should not consume alcohol.

Can You Combine Alcohol And Viagra?

Can Viagra be taken with alcohol?

Viagra is the most popular treatment for men who suffer from erectile dysfunction. However, alcohol is one of the reasons why you might be experiencing erectile dysfunction in the first place. Although alcohol may help you overcome anxiety, it can also take a toll on your sexual function.

Drinking alcohol decreases the blood which stays within your penis, which makes it harder for you to get an erection. If you’re taking Viagra because you have had erection problems in the past, you should avoid alcohol.

In addition, alcohol and Viagra can interact. Viagra lowers your blood pressure, as does alcohol. If your blood pressure gets too low, you may experience dizziness, light-headedness, fainting, headache and even heart palpitations. Having these  side effects of Viagra isn’t just potentially dangerous - it also certainly doesn’t improve your sexual performance.

No alcohol with Viagra?

It is important that you limit your alcohol intake while you are taking Viagra but it is safe to enjoy a small amount of alcohol, such as 2 - 3 units - so there’s is nothing wrong with having a glass of wine or one beer.

Does alcohol cause erectile dysfunction?

It is not only advisable to limit your drinking while taking Viagra, it can also help you combat ED and other sexual problems. A study published in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry found, that 72% of men suffering from alcohol dependence were also experiencing some form of sexual dysfunction. This included not only erectile problems but also premature ejaculation, loss of libido and difficulty achieving orgasm.

The study also found, that men who consumed 3 units of alcohol or more a day were significantly more likely to encounter sexual dysfunction than men who didn’t drink. However, a follow-up study also found, that within 2-3 months of abstinence, the study participants were no more likely to suffer from sexual problems than the control group of men who generally abstained from drinking.

Too much alcohol also increases your risk of certain conditions which can lead to ED, such as prostate problems and low levels of testosterone.
